Today in Human Geo we continued with our power points about our country, Germany. Arianna and I found out more things about the history and how the Chancellor and Presidents job work and how they are elected.
For the President, the power to impeach him is if the Bundestag impeaches him for violating the Federal law. The Chancellor can also be impeached by the Bundestag if they do not elect her to be Chancellor of Germany.
Some of the history of the President and Chancellor office. We aren't finished with that slide yet, but I found out that The President office was established by the Weimar Constitution after World War I. After the first President, Paul Von Hindenburg, died out of office the President and Chancellor's offices merged. And that's as far as I got before the bell.
I also found out that the Chancellor has to be nominated by the President after he is in office, then there's a secret ballot from the Bundestag. If they don't like the nominated Chancellor then they have two weeks to find their own and that will be the new chancellor.
Germany's officers are very interesting.
Auf Wiedersehen (:
