Today's Interesting Class...

Today in Human Geo it was a very interesting class.

Mondays classes are always slow, so it kind of went by really slow. I am really tired because I stayed up until one am waiting for a release for my fave bands album, BUT life goes on and I'm here :D:

Today Mr. Schick told us that he won his academic contest, 1st place! WOW! Okay so anyways, we spent most of the class answering these questions like the academic team would do. It was pretty cool but I think that if I did it I would stress out to much :)

For the rest of the class, we started a new section called Cultural Geography.
Here are my notes:
Cultural Geography:
"Generic Names for Soft Drinks by county"
The Picture: It showed the percentage of names that people call soda
Examples: Pop, Coke, Soda, Other, Etc.

-There are geographic differences in the way people call sodas.

We also got into a little discussion about Maryland and Chicago cultures, and how you usually follow your parents cultures.

Cultural Characteristics:
-it is parts of a groups everyday life. They are the ideas and themes which the group will teach to all members. These same characteristics can also link or divide a region.

-Examples cultural characteristics would be language, religion, and ethnic heritage.
