Day 9

Yesterday in Human Geo we had a discussion about Globalization.

-Globalization is the connection of different pars of the world. (Inner connectedness)
  • results in the expansion of international cultural, economic, and political activities.
  • examples: modern restaurants, like McDonalds are mostly all over the world but it's an American restaurant.
The economic part of globalization is- say when someone buys food from a Chinese McDonalds, American businesses get profit from that money.
  • in also places like McDonalds can change other countries culture because now they get fast food instead of having traditionally sit- down talking dinners.
-The Chinese also smoke more than Americans. They buy American cigarettes. Chinese have more population so greater number of smoking.

The Silk Road- In BC people had to travel on a road to get silk from China, at the time China was the only silk making country. So many people started traveling on that road that they called in the "Silk Road".

Globalization includes religion, technology, language learning, and exchange.
